【Jingfei News】Breakthrough in Sino-German Technological Cooperation: Hunan Jingfei and Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Automation Sign Letter of Intent.

On September 12, 2025, the Hunan–Fraunhofer Applied Research Promotion Cooperation Meeting was held in Changsha. The meeting was presided over by Li Zhijian, Party Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and attended by Vice Governor Cao Zhiqiang, Zhuang Jia, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology (via video address), Thomas Bauernhansl, Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation, and Long Yongjian, Chairman of Jingfei Group, among other leaders. At the conference, Hunan Jingfei and Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute officially signed a Letter of Intent for cooperation.

At the conference, witnessed by provincial leaders and German experts, Hunan Jingfei, Fraunhofer, and the DeFu Center of Xiangjiang New Area successfully signed the cooperation agreement. This partnership injects international resources into Hunan Jingfei’s technological innovation and leverages Fraunhofer’s global leadership in applied research to achieve international collaboration across the full spectrum of “technology R&D – results transformation – industrial upgrading,” providing key support for high-quality development. 

On the eve of the signing ceremony, experts and scholars from Fraunhofer, along with leaders from the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, visited Jingfei Group’s Changsha Center for cooperation discussions. Chairman Long Yongjian introduced Jingfei’s advanced technologies in UAVs, digital platforms, and AI. Experts including Academician Peter from Fraunhofer expressed that in areas such as digital agriculture, AI, and robotics (UAVs), there is great potential for in-depth collaboration with Jingfei to achieve mutual benefits. 

Long Yongjian, Chairman of Jingfei Group, expressed full confidence in the cooperation, affirming that the project will advance according to plan. He looks forward to establishing a model of Sino-German technological collaboration and contributing to industry development. This signing not only consolidates the achievements of prior discussions but also opens a new chapter in Sino-German technological cooperation, with broad prospects for future collaboration.
